“New Hampton Inn by Hilton opens in Oxford, Maine”

OXFORD, Maine and MCLEAN, Va. - Hilton's (NYSE: HLT) Hampton by Hilton brand, the global mid-priced hotel that serves value-conscious and quality-driven travelers around the world, today announced the opening of its newest property, Hampton Inn by Hilton Oxford. The 93-room hotel joins the family of Hampton by Hilton and Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton. Located at 151 Main Street in Oxford, the new hotel is managed by Giri Management, LLC.

 

Within walking distance of Oxford Casino, guests of Hampton Inn by Hilton Oxford will enjoy the scenic views of Mt. Washington and the White Mountains. The hotel is also near the Oxford Plains Speedway.

Lawyers guide confers honor on Preti Flaherty law firm

Preti Flaherty again has been named Maine Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation for the firm’s litigation performance, according to a news release from the firm.

 

Benchmark Litigation, a published guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys, recently hosted its annual Benchmark Awards ceremony, at which it recognized the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for their work over the past 12 months. Preti Flaherty litigation co-chairman Tim Bryant and attorneys Peter Callaghan and Matt Libby represented the firm in accepting the award.

 

The event, held at the Essex House Hotel in New York City, included attendees from 40 states and nearly 100 private practice firms.

 

Best Western’s Augusta franchise wins corporate award

 

The Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn in Augusta has received the Best Western Director’s Award for outstanding quality standards, according to a news release from the hotel chain.

 

The Director’s Award recognizes Best Western hotels scoring in the top 20 percent of more than 2,100 North American properties in cleanliness and maintenance. Hotels must also meet Best Western’s requirements for design and high customer service scores to qualify for the distinction.

 

Located at 110 Community Drive, the Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn features 100 rooms and is the hotel closest to the Augusta Civic Center. The Best Western Plus Augusta Civic Center Inn is owned and operated by Giri Hotel Management Inc., which is based in Quincy, Massachusetts. OXFORD — Construction has started on a new hotel across the street from the Oxford Casino.

State and local officials, business leaders and the project’s developer gathered Wednesday to celebrate the groundbreaking. The project is the town’s biggest since the casino opened three years ago and it is hoped it will help draw visitors to the casino.

 

The Hampton Inn will take about a year to build. It will cost $12 million and employ more than 50 people.

 

The 93-room hotel is being built by Giri Hotel Management, which runs hotels in five other Maine communities.

 

A restaurant and retail space are also planned at the site.

The Sun Journal reports that Quincy, Massachusetts-based developers GIRI Group on Tuesday signed the agreement with New York-based Calamar to construct the 92-room Hampton Inn.
